Kii route 3-2
Takenouchi Sukune
It is written in "Kojiki",Japanese histry lecoad, that Takenouchi Sukune was born from Emperor Kogen and Kagehime who was a daughter of Kii-no-kuninomiyatsuko, Ujihiko.
On the other hand, there is the following description in "Nihonshoki".
In the 3rd year of the 12th Emperor Keikou, the Emperor fortuned to worship the shrines.
The result of the fortune-telling was not good, so he stopped to go to Kinokuni. Instead, he sent the Yanushi-oshio-takeo-gokoro-no-mikoto to enshrine it in Kinokuni.
Yanushi-oshio-takeo-gokoro stayed in Kashihara (Yasuhara?) of Abi,Kinokuni, for 9 years and worshiped the gods.
It is written that he was married to Ujihiko's daugter,Kagehime, and was born Takanouchi Sukune.
Takenouchi Shuku served many emperors such as Keikou, Seimu, Chuai, Oujin, and Nintoku. It is said that he assisted especially when Empress Jingu attacked to Korea.
If these stories are true, he has lived for about 300 years. He is also enshrined as an ancestor of ancient tribe such as kii,Soga, Katsuragi Kose and Heguri.
In the 17th year of Kyoho (1731) in the Edo period, this well was verified by Toshinori Kii of the 71st Nichizen Shrine as a well that washed the body when Takenouchi Sukune was born.
Since then, when the sons or daughters of the Tokugawa Kishu family were born, the water from this well was used for newborns.
